Attention Harry Potter fans!

The chances are that if you have kids they’re Harry Potter-obsessed. Well if you’re in London you’re in luck because there are all manner of sites for little Muggles to go mad over. A Warner Brothers Studio tour comes highly recommended, as you get to see some of the actual sets used in the movie, as well as lots of props and more. There are now specialist Harry Potter walking tours of London that show you all the sights and the Choice Hotels blog has a fantastic rundown of the essential stops you’ll want to make to impress little Harry fans.

Get grossed out!

There’s gore and goo aplenty for those that like a fright at the London Dungeon. This museum of the macabre brings the darkest chapters of local and national history back to life, combining authentic set design, stunning special effects and live performance to recreate history's horrible bits. This year there’s an exciting new Sweeney Todd exhibit being added to the Dungeon, and for those with a strong enough stomach it comes highly recommended.

Fun on Film

The British Film Institute on the Thames Southbank is the nation’s home for fantastic British and world cinema. From classics to weird animation, short films to documentaries, there are libraries to explore, special screenings, tasty cafes and more.
For little ones, check out the BFI’s events calendar for their regularly held Film Fundays. These feature a special screening of a film that kids will love followed by a free workshop that’ll teach them everything from how to make their own documentary to how to create their first ever stop-frame animation. Perfect for any budding Spielbergs out there.
